The heat is on… so we are delighted to report that July is officially ice cream month and it would appear that 18 July is National Ice Cream Day. What better excuse could there be to make your own! Mary Contini shows you how in her family cookbook, Easy Peasy. Play with toppings and flavours to make this your own.
Orange Ice Cream
250g of Mascarpone
175g of caster sugar
the juice of 2 oranges, or 100ml fresh orange juice
a large bowl
a whisk, or electric hand beater
a tub with a lid for the freezer
Steady… & Go!
- Get all your ingredients ready
- Put everything into the bowl and, using the electric hand beater or whisk, beat untl smooth
- Taste the mixture and add more sugar or more organge if yuou thin it needs it.
- Pour the ice cream into the tub, put the lid on and put into the freezer. It’ll take a few hours to freeze properly.
- Enjoy in the sunshine!
