A Wee Bird Was Watching

Karine Polwart tells and sings the ‘Tale of the Wee Bird ‘in the Royal Lyceum Theatre Christmas season for all ages in a beautiful and moving interlude to this cold, enduring winter. It’s as though she has turned on the Christmas lights!

This is a genuine treat. As Erland Clouston said in his comment ‘a real antidote to this cheerless season’. Take time to watch it, it is only 12 minutes long and you won’t be disappointed. Listen out for the robin singing at the end.

Thank you Karine, thank you Lyceum.

And of course, read the book too, illustrated by Kate Leiper. It’s very special.

And don’t miss another of the Lyceum Christmas tales, ‘Nyanya and the Mighty Whizz’ from the remarkable storyteller Mara Menzies who comes from two places, Kenya and Scotland, and tells a tale from East Africa.
