We are so proud to be selected as one of the finalists in the British Book Awards Small Press of the Year 2026 in the Scotland category. We are grateful for this recognition of our publishing schedule and activities across 2025, in which we published a number of brilliant debut and emerging writers, as well as building on our decades-strong backlist which allows us to really champion Scottish writers. This is one of a number of industry awards hosted by the British Book Awards that celebrates the efforts of publishers and bookshops in achieving great things with their authors.

Philip Jones, editor of The Bookseller, said ‘Life is tough for the small presses, with sales and funding elusive in equal measure, but their spirit, knowledge of what their readers really want, smart author management, and with campaigns built to exploit niches and gaps in the market, results in often very remarkable successes. Most of these businesses are in growth, many are winning notable awards, all of them are delighting readers – my congratulations to them all.’

A huge thank you to our amazing authors, as well as the bookshops, festivals and other institutions that makes Scottish publishing so vibrant. Congratulations as well to the other finalists!
