Sandy is back in his happy place! He has returned to Botswana (setting for his globally-adored No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series) for a readers’ safari but also a chance to pop into the Elephant Havens Sanctuary where the good people who work there look after baby elephants orphaned in the wild.

He is travelling with good friend Mats Ogren who took this photograph.

Alexander’s latest book from Polygon is Looking For You. It is out now.
