Arena Sport author Steve Haake was a guest on BBC Radio 4’s The Life Scientific programme on Tuesday 8th September, discussing his role as Chair of the Parkrun Research Board. In this fascinating interview, Jim al-Khalili talks to Steve about how he got from a physics degree to being one of the leading sports engineers in the world, and how we can all improve our health by moving more.

If you need a bit of encouragement to get out of bed on a Saturday morning and go for a run (like we do), this is the perfect remedy. See you in the park at 8am sharp!

The episode is available to listen to on demand here on the BBC Sounds website and can also be found through many podcast providers.
