Robert Pirrie is a lawyer and historian. He is Chief Executive of the WS Society, one of the world’s oldest legal institutions, and a Research Fellow at King’s College London. He has a law degree with honours in jurisprudence and a PhD in history. His lifelong passion for history and a desire to articulate the essence of Scottish national identity were the inspiration for this book.
