Wigtown Book Festival: New Scottish Baking

New Scottish Baking, with Sue Lawrence

It’s no understatement to say that Britain can’t get enough of baking, from the massive success of programmes such as The Great British Bake Off, to the sourdough boom that gripped us during the pandemic. Joining host Coinneach MacLeod is acclaimed cookery writer Sue Lawrence, stalwart of Scotland’s culinary landscape, sharing with us her wisdom about what works and doesn’t work in the kitchen. She’ll tell him about her new book, introducing essential baking tips and 140 recipes in themed sections. From traditional favourites such as Selkirk bannocks and clootie dumpling, to modern takes such as haggis tartlets with red onion marmalade, and roast rhubarb and ginger blondies, this is a completely new edition of the MasterChef winner’s acclaimed book.
