Wigtown Book Festival: Lynsey May

Weak Teeth by Lynsey May

Performance: Thu 28 Sep – 12:00 UK

From one of Scotland’s most promising new writers comes a blackly comic tale of a family coping with mental illness, infidelity, and extreme toothache. In Weak Teeth, May explores the roots of trauma, through the lens of everyday experience. She’ll talk to us about her road to publication and why it’s only human to fear losing your bite.

About the author: Lynsey May lives, loves, and writes in Edinburgh. She won first place in the Fresh Ink novel contest in 2020, a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2013, a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship in 2015 and a spot as Cove Park’s Emerging Scottish Writer in 2016. Her short fiction has been published in various journals and anthologies, including The Stinging Fly, GutterNew Writing Scotland and Banshee.
