Join us for our opening session where Jane will be showcasing her work and talking about future projects.

After gaining a degree in Zoology, Jane Smith became a wildlife film maker, travelling extensively for the BBC Natural History Unit and National Geographic. She won an Emmy for her cinematography and has also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Tweet of the Day. The recipient of several awards for her art & printmaking, she now creates wildlife art from her home on the west coast of Scotland to communicate her passion for the natural world through detailed studies and printmaking.

She wrote and illustrated ​‘Wild Island, a Year in the Hebrides’ (pub. Birlinn 2016), about the RSPB’s work on the island of Oronsay. She also writes articles for conservation magazines and has contributed to many books about art and wildlife. Her latest publications are a series of notebooks featuring illustrations of Scottish wildlife.
