Scottish Game Fair: Andrew Painting

This year, the GWCT Scottish Game Fair has gathered an array of authors, scientists and knowledgeable speakers from far and wide to tell their tales and accounts, celebrating the countryside, reflecting on halcyon days from the past and current work being done to protect the land for future generations.  We will explore topics from art to adventure, food, farming and folklore, conservation, climate change and culture.

Join Andrew Painting to discuss Regeneration, the success story of rewilding on the Mar Lodge Estate featuring not only the people who are protecting the land and quietly working to undo the wrongs of the past, but also the myriad creatures which inspire them to do so. The book also tackles current controversies such as raptor persecution, deer management and rewilding and asks bigger questions about the nature of conservation itself: what do we see when we look at our wild places? What should we see? Andrew will be joined by Ross MacLeod to discuss these themes and much more.

Talks will be hosted in the Childrens Nest, the Adults Hive and the GWCT Working Conservationists marquee, and all located around the GWCT Central exhibit by the main ring. Tickets £5.
