Talk
Merryn Glover at HighlandLIT
(THIS EVENT HAS NOW PASSED)
Merryn Glover, widely-published author of fiction and non-fiction, drama and poetry joins us to discuss her new book The Hidden Fires (Polygon, 2023) and its relationship to Nan Shepherd’s classic work about the Cairngorms, The Living Mountain.
Merryn describes The Hidden Fires as ‘an account of my pilgrimage deeper into the Cairngorms and my own sense of being, with Nan Shepherd as invisible friend: walking guide, writing tutor and fellow wonderer.’
We’re looking forward to learning more about this pilgrimage, and Merryn’s new understanding, both of herself, and of the Cairngorm range and its significance in the Scotland of today.
