Merryn Glover at Badenoch Heritage Festival

The Shepherd’s Tale

What is the story of the shepherding life in the strath, past and present, and how do we tell it? Come along to this special evening to join a local farmer, a novelist, a film-maker and a musician share the tale. The conversation includes Campbell & Sheena Slimon, Laggan shepherds and author of Stells, Stools & Strupag; Merryn Glover, whose new novel, Of Stone and Sky, is set in the strath, with the disappearance of a shepherd at its heart; film-maker Jill Brown, who will show and talk about her short 2010 film, The Blaragie Clippings; and Hamish Napier, who will thread the evening together with traditional music. All the featured books, cds and dvds will be available for purchase on the night.

The event will take place at Talla Nan Ros Hall, Kingussie and starts at 7.30 pm. Please arrive 10 mins early. Parking is roadside and there is disabled access to the hall.

Pre-booking is essential.
