Stuart Cosgrove at Dundee Festival of the Future
Perthshire-born broadcaster and journalist Stuart Cosgrove talks about his Soul Trilogy which documents the connections between the music and the political struggles of the late sixties.
Detroit 67 is the story of Motown set against a background of urban riots and escalating war in Vietnam, Memphis 68 follows the fortunes of soul and blues label Stax Records in the tumultuous year of the assassination of Martin Luther King, and Harlem 69 covers the year of the controversial Black Panthers trial and the connections of Harlem to the roots of disco, funk, hip hop and R&B.
This event includes a book signing and books will be available to buy on site.
