Having travelled all the around the world during our pre-festival poetry tour, StAnza will celebrate arriving back at St Andrews airport (aka the Byre Theatre) with a Scottish poetry and music extravaganza, featuring artists and speakers from every corner of the country. As well as Edinburgh’s new Makar and author of Blood Salt Spring Hannah Lavery; the festival launch event will also feature poetry from Scotland’s new Makar (and local Fife poet) Kathleen Jamie, Shetland’s Jen Hadfield, Lewis-man Peter Mackay, music from Angus’s finest poet-cum-jazz-musician Don Paterson and Aberdonian Graeme Stephen; and words from Gallovidian Festival Director Lucy Burnett and Glaswegian-New Zealander Robyn Marsack… plus a few surprise cameo appearances. An evening simply not to miss!
