Husband and wife writing team Chris Brookmyre and Marisa Haetzman bring their glorious Fisher and Raven series to a close with the fifth and final instalment The Death of Shame. These novels have brilliantly brought to life Victorian Edinburgh with their ingeniously plotted tales of murder and medical experiments. Broughty Ferry based author Michele Sloan also revisits the shadowy closes of Edinburgh’s Old Town, where sixteen people are murdered to feed surgeon Dr Robert Knox’s insatiable need for his anatomy classes. Burke and Hare and their wives, Lucky and Nelly, are all complicit, but only Burke swings for their crimes. Mrs Burke & Mrs Hare is intriguing tale of murder and retribution. The authors will be in conversation with local crime writer RD McLean, author of The Friday Girl.
