Alan McCredie at Pitlochry Winter Words Festival

Pitlochry fans will instantly recognise both actor Colin McCredie from playing Scrooge in the 2019 Christmas production of A Christmas Carol, as well as our ‘Santa’ in The Magic of Christmas film alongside Clare Grogan as his Mrs Claus, as well as professional photographer and author, Alan McCredie, having taken part in Winter Words in previous years.
This year Pitlochry presents a double-whammy as the brothers team up to talk about their careers and lives in the arts. As well as their love of football!
Colin is best known for playing D.C Stuart Fraser in over 75 episodes of STV’s Taggart, along with appearing in Still Game, Outlander, River City, and CBeebies’ Woolly & Tig and will also soon be seen in the new film The Last Bus with Timothy Spall.
Professional photographer, Alan is a lecturer in Photography at Edinburgh College and author and co-author of many books including One Hundred Weeks of Scotland, Scotland The Dreich, Scotland The Braw, This Is Scotland and Snapshot with Daniel Gray, and My Scotland with Val McDermid.
Both are Perth boys born and bred, although Alan says he is now lost to the wilds of Leith, both have a great love of football. Both lifelong superfans of Perth team, St. Johnstone, Alan’s new book, Snapshot: Scenes and Stories from the Heartlands of Scottish Football captures the gritty, alluring essence of Scotland’s national game.
