Mark Mulhern was previously a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He was also editor of several volumes of the Scottish Life and Society: A Compendium of Scottish Ethnology series and General Editor of the Flashbacks and Regional Flashbacks series. He developed the ‘Spoken Word’ strand of the Regional Ethnology of Scotland Project (RESP); interviews from this project form the basis of this book.
