Launch of Edinburgh’s Greatest Hits

On Monday 22nd of August 2022, Born To Be Wide presented the launch of Edinburgh’s Greatest Hits at The Fruitmarket Gallery to celebrate Edinburgh’s illustrious music history.

Edinburgh’s Greatest Hits co-authors Jim Byers and Fiona Shepherd were joined in-conversation with Born To Be Wide founder, Olaf Furniss. They highlighted some of the featured stories, how the book was conceived and how the music scene can continue to thrive. A huge thank you to Born To Be WideCreative Scotland and our event partners Edinburgh Festival FringeEHFM and the Fruitmarket, as well as our illustrious speakers Fiona ShepherdJim Byers and our wonderful DJs: Davie Miller, Fay Fife, Feena McKinnell, Jonn Richardson, Stephen Allen and Trendy Wendy.

Ticket proceeds from the event were donated to the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) and Attitude Is Everything. The former provides an extensive range of health services for musicians and the latter aims to improve access to live music for deaf and disabled artists, industry professionals and audiences.
