We all know that James Bond is partial to a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred. But why stick to vodka? Shake things up a bit… Celebrate the release of the newest film, No Time to Die, with a cocktail devised by drinks expert Ian Buxton in association with Fever Tree for his new book, Gin: The Ultimate Companion. ‘No Thyme to Die’ is a delicious blend of London Dry gin and Pedro Ximénez sherry, accompanied by Fever Tree soda and, of course, a garnish of thyme.

35ml London Dry gin
15ml Pedro Ximénez
Serve with Fever-Tree Italian Blood Orange Soda, over ice and garnish with orange and thyme
Just go with the gin you like (or have got in the cupboard) but don’t stint on the sherry. I’ve been using El Candado from Valdespino.
Gin has been experiencing a boom in recent years, and as Ian writes, much of this is down to the incredible success of Fever Tree tonic ‘which was born as recently as 2005 on the back of the boom in crafted spirits.
