Michael Pedersen at Hexham Book Festival

Hollie McNish & Friends

An evening of performance poetry- Hollie returns to Hexham and is joined by Dean Atta and Michael Pedersen.

Hollie leads the evening with topics that range through guilt, sex, politics, parenthood, friendship and school discos with a keen eye for absurdity and a relish for rhyme. Humane, refreshingly candid, sometimes quite rude and often very funny. Dean Atta -named as “one of poetry’s greatest modern voices” by Gay Times, his  work has appeared on BBC One, BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service and Channel 4, often dealing with themes of gender, identity, race and growing up . Michael Pedersen  has added to his acclaimed debut collection Play with Me with the beautifully illustrated Oyster. Pedersen also co-runs and co-founded Neu! Reekie! – a prize winning Scottish arts collective.
