Andrew Greig and Jim Carruth at Aye Write Festival
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT FUTURE EVENTS.
Two acclaimed poets read from their latest collections.
Andrew Greig’s Later That Day contains new works of gratitude and elegy. At once lyrical and direct, these poems take place in Glasgow, Auckland, the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands, and above all amid the clear light and bare, fertile islands of Orkney.
Jim Carruth’s Bale Fire is a book in three cycles. The first explores the darker side of communities in decline. The middle is a transposition of elements and characters of the Odyssey to a Scottish hill farm and its neighbours. The final part looks at the idea of harvest and loss.
